AI Assistant Release Notes
Release date: October 2026
The JupiterOne AI assistant is now part of every page. It sees the page you are on, so you can ask about what is in front of you without explaining it first. It answers questions about how JupiterOne works from the JupiterOne documentation, and it can take you to the page you need. Every page offers its own suggested questions, and the assistant can stay beside your work, move out of the way while it thinks, or open as a full page.
No. The new assistant is on for every account. Select Ask AI in the page header to start.
What is new in the AI assistant

| Three ways to work | Keep the assistant in a side panel beside the page, collapse it while it works and watch its progress on the Ask AI button, or open the conversation as a full page |
| Sees your screen | The assistant reads the page you are on, including the query behind it, the active filters, and the rows on screen, so you can ask "what am I looking at?" |

| Knows JupiterOne | Questions about features, concepts, and how JupiterOne unifies your data are answered from the JupiterOne documentation |

| Feedback on every response | Rate any finished response, and add a comment that tells us what to fix |
| Download chat | Save the conversation as a Markdown file from the Assistant menu |
Three ways to work
The assistant keeps one conversation, and you choose where it shows:
- Side panel. Select Ask AI to open the assistant beside the page. The page stays usable while you talk to the assistant.
- Collapsed. Select Collapse assistant to tuck the panel away while the assistant works. The Ask AI button shows what the assistant is doing as it happens, then reads View response when the answer is ready. Select it to open the panel on the answer.
- Full page. Select Open as page to give the conversation the whole page. Select Return to side panel to bring it back beside your work.
The conversation moves between these views as it is. Nothing restarts.
The assistant sees your screen
The assistant knows which page you are on and what it shows: the page's title, the J1QL query behind the view, the filters you applied, and a sample of the rows on screen. Ask about what you see in your own words:
- "What am I looking at?"
- "Why is this control failing?"
- "Which of these assets should I look at first?"
On an entity, Explain this entity gives you a plain-language summary of the entity you have open.
Suggested questions on every page
Every page starts a new conversation with suggested questions. The assistant writes three or four questions for each page from what that page shows, so the suggestions are ones it can help with there. Select a suggestion to start, or type your own question.
Ask how JupiterOne works
The assistant answers product questions from the JupiterOne documentation, so its answers follow how JupiterOne actually works. Ask it to explain a feature, a concept, or the mechanics behind what you see:
- "How does JupiterOne unify devices that come from several integrations?"
- "What is the difference between a rule and an alert?"
- "How do I set up an integration for my AWS organization?"
The assistant takes you there
Ask the assistant to take you somewhere, and it opens the page. When the page you want is the one you are on, it can apply a filter or sort for you instead. You can also press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux) and type a page's name to go there directly.
- "Take me to my failing controls."
- "Open the integrations page."
- "Show only the critical findings on this page."
Feedback on every response
Every finished response shows a thumbs up and a thumbs down. Select one to rate the response, and add a comment if you want to tell us what worked or what went wrong. Your feedback goes straight to the team building the assistant.
What data the assistant uses
The assistant uses three sources:
- The page on your screen: the page's title, the query behind the view, the filters you applied, and a limited sample of the rows on screen.
- The JupiterOne documentation: the public pages at docs.jupiterone.io.
- Your conversation: the questions you ask and the answers in the same conversation.
The assistant sees only what your user account can see in JupiterOne. For how JupiterOne AI processes your data, see Security and privacy.
