What's new in the JupiterOne app
Release date: October 2026
Usability updates that change how you get around JupiterOne. The new search palette reaches the whole platform from one box, a top bar puts it above every page, and the inspector and the AI assistant now resize to fit your screen.
No. These updates are on for every account. Select Search at the top of any page, or press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux).
What is new
| Feature | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Search palette | One search box for pages, integrations, asset classes and types, anything in your graph, J1QL queries, and questions for the AI assistant |
| Top bar | Search, Ask AI, and your account menu sit above every page, in the same place everywhere |
| Resizable inspector | Drag the inspector wider or narrower, snap it to full width, or pull it closed. It keeps the width you choose |
| Resizable AI assistant | Drag the assistant wider or narrower, pull it left to open it as a full page, or pull it right to tuck it away while it works |
Search palette
Getting somewhere in JupiterOne used to mean knowing where it lived: which page, which menu, or which J1QL query to write. Now you type what you are looking for.
Select Search at the top of any page, or press ⌘K, and type any of these:
| What you type | What you get |
|---|---|
A page name, such as alerts, frameworks, or asset criticality | The page. Select it to go there |
An integration, class, or type, such as aws or User | The AWS integration with matching types and classes, or every User asset |
| A name, a property value, or a UUID | Matching entities from your graph. Control tests, rules, questions, alerts, and attestations are entities in your graph, so they come up too |
A J1QL query, such as FIND aws_s3_bucket | Run query opens it on the query page |
| A question in plain words | Ask AI sends it to the AI assistant |
Before you type anything, the palette shows the pages you opened recently and a few places from each part of the app.
Entities from your graph open in the inspector together with the other matches, so you can step through them. To see every match as a result table, select Search the graph for "...".
Some searches to try:
kubernetes: the Kubernetes integration, Kubernetes types, and matching entities in one list- A UUID: the entity with that ID
- Part of a control test's name: the control test
- "Which hosts have critical vulnerabilities?": a new conversation with the AI assistant
Top bar
Search, Ask AI, and your account menu now sit in a bar above every page. Select your avatar to open the account menu, where you can switch between the light and dark themes or open your profile.
Resize the inspector
Drag the handle on the inspector's left edge to make it wider or narrower.
- Your width sticks. The inspector opens at the width you last left it in this browser.
- Full width. Keep dragging left past the widest point, and release to snap the inspector to full width. A strip of the page stays visible beside it.
- Pull to close. Drag the handle right past the narrowest point, and release to close the inspector.
- Reset. Double-click the handle to return to the default width.
From the keyboard, focus the handle and use the arrow keys to resize (hold Shift for larger steps), or Home and End to jump to the narrowest and widest width.
Resize the AI assistant
Drag the handle on the assistant panel's left edge to make it wider or narrower.
- Full page. Keep dragging left past the widest point, and release to open the conversation as a full page.
- Tuck it away. Drag right past the narrowest point, and release to tuck the assistant away. It keeps working, and the Ask AI button shows its progress, then reads View response when the answer is ready.
To close the assistant from the side panel or the full page, select X.
